iPhone 7? Here's what to do first

Tags

Despite the intention to stay with my iPhone 6S for another year, I ended up switching to the iPhone 7, and I'm glad that I did. If you were lucky enough to get an iPhone 7 for Christmas, or an iPhone 7 Plus for that matter, you're definitely going to be as happy with the latest Apple smartphone as I am.

Getting started is simple, as once the phone is activated in you will walk through the set up process, how to set up the Touch ID fingerprint scanner and set up a PIN. Once you've set up the basics, it's time to explore what you can do with your new device.

Accessories

The iPhone 7 is very light, but strong enough. Despite this, you'll probably want to invest in a business, especially if you have the shiny black jet iPhone (like me) that can suffer scratches and scratches only daily use. I opted for a case from Casetify, but certainly there are other cases available. Keep in mind, the design of the iPhone has changed slightly for the iPhone 7, so if you upgrade an old iPhone, you will need a new case.

The headset was removed from this model, but I did not find it a big problem because I tend to use a Bluetooth headset anyway. The set of wired headphones that come with the phone plug directly into the lightning port, so you can use them immediately and it is also a 3mm socket adapter if you want to use an existing pair of headphones.

Software

If your version of iOS is not perfectly up to date, you'll want to update it now. Go to Settings & gt; General & gt; software update.

Install all desired applications through the App Store. If you have iTunes gift cards, you can redeem them at the bottom of the App Store display.

If you already owned an iPhone, you can restore a backup of it via iTunes - assuming you have an old backup. You can also install apps previously downloaded by opening the App Store, listens updates, bought thread and does not open on this iPhone tab.

Apple now allows you to remove unwanted stock apps. The process is the same as removing all the other apps that you do not want. Press down gently until applications start to oscillate and then tap those that you want to delete. Press too hard, and you will activate Touch 3D, which brings up a context menu.

By dragging a flickering app on another will create a folder, which allows you to easily sort a large app collection.

When you have finished deleting applications, press the Home button to stop their jumping.

Menus

Swipe up from the bottom to access the control center, which is where you can enable or disable settings like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, do not disturb and airplane mode on or off. You can also adjust the brightness here, manage the night shift parameters (this changes the tint of the screen depending on the time of day) and turn on the flashlight. Press the flashlight button hard, and you can choose one of three light intensities.

Swipe to the right in this menu to open the music controls.

Slide to the left of the home screen to access the widgets screen, which shows the calendar and other information. Scroll down to choose which widgets, from which apps to display.

Dragging to the bottom of the Home screen displays all notifications of these. You can also archive or reply to a message on this screen.

Finally, sliding down the center of the home screen displays Spotlight search and Siri's suggestions.

Camera

The camera allows you to take pictures in a variety of styles, including the place and panorama, and it can record Live Photos - a cross between a photo and video. Tap a captured photo that way, and it will animate. This feature can be disabled at the top of the camera, with HDR and flash.

As well as opening the camera application, you can take pictures, selfies. Videos and videos slow-mo just by pressing the camera button and selecting the desired option in the pop-up window.

Once the camera application is open, you can take a picture by pressing the top and bottom volume keys at the same time. You can also do the same if you have a pair of headphones with volume settings.

The iPhone 7 is capable of capturing images in 4K at 3o fps, but you will have to activate this first. Go to Settings & gt; Photos & Camera> Record video. Videos recorded in 4K are great and of course, can not play on all your equipment.

Difficult restart

If your iPhone locks up for any reason, you can force a hard reboot. In previous iPhones, it was done by pressing power and home, but because Apple has changed the type of home button on the iPhone 7, now you do by pressing the power and volume down. You will need to log in with your PIN after a reset.

I have owned and used a lot of phones over the years, including iPhones and phone
